Editorial Calendar

Content audit in an actual time line... yay :/. So here is the audit itself "1. Welcome. 2.Services. 3.Contact. 4.News/Travel. 5.Biography. 6.The Facility. of these 1,3, and 5 are completely done. Content for 6 is 90% complete, Content for 2 is slightly over 75% complete, and 4 is at about 50%. The biggest hill I have to cross is the still imagery for the site. 2 and 6 still need their images, I have shoots scheduled for this upcoming week to complete those. 4 is the other end of the spectrum, the news and travel aspect of the site is going to require a lot of back logging calendars and itemizing previous work trips that have been taken as well as scanning the vaults of photos from said trips and filtering which ones will be used on the site for recaps of events. Summaries for each trip also need to be written. There is also a little bit of writing that still needs to be completed for 2." Lets prioritize these. 1. Shooting, I have 6 Hours of shooting on the calendar next week. (2.5 shooting hours for services, 2.5 hours shooting the facility, 1 hours shooting portrait for bio/ or contact, where this will go hasn't been completely determined yet.) 2. Calendar Management, I gonna estimate this on the heavy end. I think in 4 hours i can attack the rest of the calendar. I have work trips entered from October of 2015-June of 2016, I need to write summaries and attach images for these as well as log back another 8 months. Then i need to register the upcoming trips through October of 2016. Mondays are usually my computer work night, however with the holiday this week, I am going to push it off too Tuesday. Lastly 3. Writing, the final paragraph for services still needs to be written, I have a little research to do and then the actual writing of the body. Im estimating heavily two hours to get this done. Im gonna bite this off wednesday before class. So if anyone wants to bring me coffee ill probably need the extra kick to stay awake in this room for 6 hours. Wish me luck. If all goes well, the site content will be complete by next class and up for review. Note the images wont be done, they will still need editing. 4. Editing, one week. All in all, by week 10 I'm estimating to have all the final pieces, including images loaded up to the site and ready to go.

Content Audit

Alright, getting pretty close to done here so lets check of the rest of the boxes. Wait which boxes? Oh yeah, that's this. The time has come to figure out what i need to finish off, so lets see where exactly I am at. www.TheBodyMechanicMAT.com I have six pages on the website.. 1. Welcome. 2.Services. There is also a little bit of writing that still needs to be completed for 2.

TheBodyMechanicMAT.com

Alright guys, I know bringing all of our plastic to class is gonna be fun but I went ahead and bought my domain before hand. I wont be making it to class this week so here is my update. As you know, my site is already up, and my domain was purchased long ago (AmandaAmphlett.com) the site I am creating for this class now also has its official domain (TheBodyMechanicMAT.com) I also went ahead and crated a few mock ups for the way we want the site to look. First thing first, we decided to change the color scheme a little bit, Orange may be the new black, but for us Red is the new Orange. Here are the screen grabs of what we are thinking for the layout. Any input would be much appreciated, any questions id be happy to answer. I will try and layout the pictures as easily as i can to understand. Enjoy making it rain with out me on Wednesday. See ya in a week! Here is the home screen, there will be some sort of mission statement on the right hand side, however the exact sentence is yet to come.
Here are a couple insde pages we are considering, detail need to be worked out but these are examples for now.
Thoughts and opinions!? Thanks -Amanda

Current Website and Design Ideas

I am in a little different place starting this class, I already have my website up and running so I'm hoping to get some feedback on what I have up. I will go through and post sites and styles I like in addition to what i have and any sort of criticism i would really appreciate. Through this class I will also be creating a sit e for someone else, I figured I might as well take full advantage of the course and keep up with the work flow. Since mine is complete I will be posting workflow for an additional site, I will do my best to keep everything separate and labeled so its as easy to follow site for site.

Check out my site and let me know what you think.

Internet Crack; Also known as Pinterest.

Have seven hours a day you don't need? By all means, check this thing out. If not, still probably check it out. Its pretty awesome for inspiration, techniques, and planning you future wedding, to the guy you haven't met yet, and picking paint colors for the twin girls room in your Vermont vacation house. So you get the point, its like the online catalog of everything you could possibly imagine and you can comprise it into your own virtual bulletin board. Pretty rad, plus you don't have to deal with all those stupid thumbtack holes when you move. You can find mine at https://www.pinterest.com/shmanda1 . Ill save you some time and break this down a little bit more. A few of my relevant boards are as follows...

Me.

Here we go, a small blurb about me. Im twenty-four years old and putting the final pieces into my Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree at the Art Institute of Seattle. I guess the first part of me would be that I am a photographer and my major focus is editorial portraiture. That term usually grants blank stares and looks of confusion, "what is editorial portraiture" tends to follow. A very broad, yet specific term, which only seems to be relevant to photographers. So what is it? The best definition I've come across is Photography that accompanies the printed word. Open any magazine, find and article and notice the imagery that goes along with it, this is editorial photography. Now find an article with people and these are editorial portraits.

There, we broke the ice, now a little more about me. I was born and raised in Seattle, I love it here and this is where I want to stay. I ventured out after high school, I tried LA, hated it.  I managed a year there and couldn't take any more, don't get me wrong the sun is great, but I cant budget that much sunblock (redhead) and the social norms were just too far from my Pacific NorthWest background. I tried Chicago too, my reactions were the exact opposite, loved it, however it was too cold too often. So here I remain. Everything I know and love is here, to put it simply what better than to define it with a meme.
 So yes, Seattle it is.

Aside from school, what do I do? Quite honestly I do a lot, its hard to keep a grip on everything let alone describe it in a couple paragraphs. I work, we all do, pretty boring so I'll skip right over that. I coach a middle school cheer team and I absolutely love it. Meeker Middle School in Kent, comprised of 7th and 8th graders, twelve of my favorite little humans in the world. They drive me crazy, make me pull my hair out, and yell far too often but I love each and every one of them and I am proud to call them mine. Okay mine-ish, I guess I should give some credit and ownership to their parents. I give a lot of my time to the team and they work their butts off for it so I'll happily sit in my car and bare the south bound traffic three times a week, plus wherever their competitions may be Saturday mornings. Where does that leave us? One-Hundred-Sixty-Eight hours in a week, Sixty down between school and work, another Fifteen to my team girls, Six hours a night too sleeping and at least Two a day to eating.... math done? Ive got a little over twenty percent of my weekly hours left. Thirty-Seven hours to go, I work out, kind of a lot, I'm a gym junkie. Depending on the day, I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I Run, I Lift, and I go to an open mat at my old gymnastics gym. Whether its the endorphin release or some weird neurosis of mine, I thoroughly enjoy spending time each day getting choked out or beat up, running extensive distances (by choice, not even away from something threatening), picking heavy shit up just to put it down and pick it up again, and attempting to defy gravity in a leotard. We are down to about twenty hours, so back to the beginning, Im a twenty-four year old girl, I spend the rest of my time hanging out with my boyfriend, shopping with my girlfriends and binge watching Orange is the New Black on Netflix. More or less, this is me, thats the smallest blurb I could break my story down too, and  if you want to know more jump on board. My blog will cover my artistic ventures, how and what I am producing, and all the ridiculousness that occurs through the process. Lets do this thing.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and checking out a little bit about who I am.
